PARTNERSHIPS

In 2024, Girls in Motion partnered with Jaipur based Block printing company SZ Blockprints. The collaboration stemmed from a desire to create a uniform that would allow for an transition from school girl to sport woman when on the badminton court.

Certain quotas needed to be met such as something culturally appropriate, functional and sustainable, rather than feeding into the fast fashion industry. The uniforms were made using surplus fabric that had been accumulated over years in SZ’s stockroom.

SZ Blockprints, founded in 2016 by Sarah Zellweger, has emerged as a frontrunner in the revival of block printing, bridging tradition with contemporary appeal, as described by Vogue in 2023. From its humble beginnings as a market stall in East London's Broadway market, SZ Blockprints has growninto a global brand with retail partnerships in key markets like the USA and Japan, including J.Crew,Tuckernuck, and Ron Herman/Sazaby Group.
